Affirmation of the week

My higher self continues to offer me ongoing inspiration, guidance, and life.

In summary

Where did we leave off?

Week 20 introduced a plot twist. I decided to dedicate week 21 to sitting with the disappointment I felt about the plot twist and focusing on prepping for my trip to Japan during week 22 . Japan was a blast. I fulfilled one of my childhood dreams of visiting. I will publish a separate post dedicated to the trip. Week 23 was for resettling back into Eastern Standard Time. Tokyo is 13 hours ahead of NY and it took me 5-6 days to feel completely rooted back in the EST time zone. Much longer than I thought it would. Why didn’t anyone warn me?! 🥴😂

The soundtrack

I’m still on the high of kickin it in Japan. This was the soundtrack for the past couple of weeks.

Colors and tarot

I don’t even remember what I pulled that card for. I was in a creative journaling mood and let my inner child run wild with markers and color clickart pens.

Last minute errands

Running final errands the day before our flight to Japan! I was feeling soo excited.

24 Karat magic

While visiting Kyoto, Japan, we visited one of the Buddhist Temples there and this beauty is made of real 24 karat gold! It’s washed and polished every day! Japan takes pride and care for your things to the next level and I’m here for it. The grounds were so peaceful and grounding. Even with all the tourists there snapping pics, it was very serene feeling. Can only imagine how peaceful it feels when all of the tourists have gone home for the day.

Blessing and good fortune

We visited a couple shinto shrines while in Japan. It’s common to see beautiful areas like this in them where people write on and decorate these “cards” with their wishes for blessings like good fortune, good health and healing, prosperous businesses, or success in their studies if they’re students.

Below the cards are chains of small, colorful paper cranes! If you know anything about origami, the art of folding paper into shapes, you know how intricate it is to fold paper cranes this small and with so much precision!

Summer reading list

After I returned from Japan, I began curating my summer reading list. This is a preliminary list because I may add one or two more. I can’t seem to stop buying books! I just bought two more recently. Lol.

I was a huge library kid growing up. During my awkward phase in 6th grade, I was very quiet and didn’t have many friends. I’d skip lunch at the cafeteria and spend it in the library so many days that the books and librarians became my friends. Every summer the local libraries always curated summer reading lists and it was fun trying to read all of the books on them before the new school year started.

Divine reminder for that plot twist

This week I’m looking forward to

  • Switching out my winter wardrobe with my summer wardrobe, FINALLY
  • A fun one-day retreat
  • Taking my great aunt out to breakfast for her birthday

What are you looking forward to this week?
