In summary

Just one of the cool things I I had fun with this week was working with ChatGPT more and experimenting with different prompts for it. It recommended study prep courses within my budget and created a suggested study schedule for the exam. Another prompt helped me identify and plan my daily water and protein based on my height, weight, and body composition.

I vowed to enforce the plan after Easter weekend passed because it was filled with family, good family friends, up talking until 2 am, food I normally only eat during holidays, and desserts galore.

The soundtrack

Last week, I was watching the livestream of Coachella and saw Lisa from BLACKPINK perform her set. She performed When I’m With You, featuring Tyla, and it stayed stuck in my head all week. My favorite part of it is at the very end where she and Tyla are singing together.

Art and coffee

I attended an art quilt exhibit opening on Sunday on behalf of my mother. Two of her quilts were included in it and she wasn’t able to attend. The exhibit was held in a quaint and cozy cafe called Sakofa Cafe in the Montclair area of New Jersey. It’s there until May 30th. If you’re in the area, go check it out. The shield piece is one of the two included in the exhibit by her.

I loved my outfit that day too. It was so simple yet, cool to me.

Message

“Destigmatizing male vulnerability is the first step toward rebuilding the absolute ruin that straight men have left the world in.”

A twelve year old in the book Seven Days in June by Tia Williams (affiliate link) said this to the male lead. It sounded like something Bell Hooks has said in various ways throughout her works.

Sweet and savory

I switched out my usual strawberries and blueberries fruit topping on my artisanal chia seed pudding with apples, blackberries, and blueberries. I think I like this new combo better!

The second picture is the delicious breakfast that my cousin’s husband made for the family over the weekend. Savory grits, sautéed spinach, peppers, and onions, and scrambled eggs, oh my!

Night school

I went to this dope event that fostered micro learning and community. It’s called Night School. Each month 2-3 special guests teach about an interesting or useful subject for around 15 minutes each and answer questions from the audience. It’s a free event and offers a more intimate social gathering to bring people together and make meaningful connections.

This week I’m looking forward to

  • Going on more outdoor walks. It was super rainy on and off all last week.
  • Catching up with one of my line sisters over lunch
  • Getting back to my normal routine after enjoying the weekend full of Easter food, non-sleep, and desserts

What are you looking forward to this week?
