I feel some good news coming through this week. I’m excited for it too.

But back to last week. Time is moving a lot faster than it used to, so I welcomed this week feeling slow and easy. Not every week can or will be like this I so appreciate it when they are and try to be as present as possible. I also got a lot of clarity this week about the week prior which felt riddled with questions and unexpected events.
Soundtrack
The soundtrack for last week was still the ‘This is Victoria Monèt‘ playlist. Her music’s got me in a chokehold right now and I’m good with that.
Outside touching grass

On the 20th, we ushered in the spring season in the northern hemisphere and to the winter I said, “Girl, BYE!”. Many things died figuratively for me. I felt ready for some of them to die and easily released. While others I didn’t feel as ready for, but when it’s time, it’s time. So I let them go too. With spring symbolizing rebirths, new beginnings, fresh starts, and things blooming, it was important for me to get outside and touch grass. So, I did that and one better, I swung on the swings at the park too. It felt so joyous and re-centering.
Swinging on swings is very freeing and powerful for me. It grounds my energy, brings me clarity, realigns me, and opens portals to good things, new ideas, etc. I slept so good that night, my Oura ring wanted to know what I had done to impact my sleep in that way. Lol.
For reel, for reel

I kept hearing so many great reviews about The Reel by Kennedy Ryan and I started reading it this week. I’m hooked already. Ryan’s fast becoming a favorite author of mine. I really like her storytelling style and how she conveys humans navigating life as individuals, in relationships, and in community. I also love how she portrays healthy communication between men and women love interests even though they face adversities at times in their stories. It’s soo refreshing!

I love this tee. I love the message. Nuff said.
Hablo español
I’m visiting Costa Rica this year and practicing to be conversational in Spanish so I can talk with locals who may not speak much or any English. I can read and write in Spanish pretty well but speaking has always intimidated me. I’m afraid to make mistakes and sound foolish, but, you know what? Eff it. I’m gonna look foolish and practica, practica, practica! I won’t get better, let alone, good, unless I start talking, right?
A video came up on my FYP on Tik Tok sharing that there was a telenovela from back in the 90’s that was created to teach English speakers Spanish. It’s called Destinos and the episodes are on YouTube. I started watching them to support my endeavors and am enjoying them.

I’m starting something new where I think about at least one thing that I’m looking forward to in the new week, even if it’s as simple and mundane as having a meeting free evening one day out of the week so I can read and crochet for a little longer. Life is wild. Having things to look forward to helps inject more joy and meaning into it as often as possible.
This new week I’m looking forward to
- Spa day with a good friend of mine for massages, kee kee’ing, and catching up
- Experiencing some pleasant surprises and good news that I’ve been sensing. I’m excited for them already.
- Resuming my weight training routine after post-surgery healing for 4 weeks
Wishing everyone a great new week. Is there anything that you’re looking forward to in yours?
