One of my pet peeves is daylight savings time. I’m currently recalibrating from DST beginning last weekend. Every year it throws me off a little for a couple of weeks. I miss that hour of sleep “lost” terribly and the days feel like they move at the speed of light. This practice is useless to me. It gives the illusion of longer days during the spring through fall but it isn’t making the daylight longer! End rant. Until I adjust, I’ll just be over here yawning.
Oh, and I’m vibing to Victoria Monet as I type up this post.
Color me fly

While healing from my surgery late last month into earlier this month, I picked up an unopened coloring book. Over the time, I learned there are some techniques and proper tools you need if you’re coloring with markers to avoid or lessen streaking, if you care about that. Apparently, you lessen this phenomenon using alcohol base markers.
I had fun coloring this one last week using markers (before I knew better about alcohol base markers), crayons and colored pencils. After I finished her, I gave her a name and backstory. Her name is Raquel and she likes mischief, hosting dinner parties, and whippin her hair back and forth. A vibe, right?
Be the light

Last Wednesday I received this timely advice from an oracle card reading I did on myself. Little did I know this card’s message would help me process some unexpected news that I would receive the very next day.
Bags on bags

Some new items I ordered from Portland Leather Goods delivered last week and sparked joy. I’m a fan of the brand’s quality, craftsmanship, timeless styles, and functionality. This tote has the right amount of structure without being rigid and easily fits a 14 inch laptop. I ordered these pouches in orange to spice up life on the inside of my bags.
Cleaning out my closet
If you’re ever in need of more clarity about something in your life or want to make room for more blessings to come your way, clean out a closet you’ve been avoiding. Closets and what’s behind them can represent our internal state and things we’re avoiding, delaying, harboring, hiding or suppressing in our conscious or subconscious lives.

I’d been dreading reorganizing my bedroom closet for months and as more time passed, the state of it worsened. I ditched the excuses this past Saturday, poured a glass (or two) of wine, put on my headphones with my ‘Fearless Living’ playlist playing, and got busy. I even took a two-hour pizza and a movie break and then got right back to it. I danced and sang while I worked.
I’m excited to see what clarity, good news, and blessings I made space for.
